almotamar.net - Well-informed source said Monday Yemen has officially requested from Indian authorities to hand over to its 11 persons it says the Indian authorities captured those days ago among 23 pirates. Yemen says Indian navy has captured them in the Yemeni Gulf of Aden.

The source made it clear that Yemen demanded extradition of those persons for checking their identities and taking legal measures against them if it is proved they have relation with the acts of sea piracy and to refer them to court.

The Indian navy force had last Saturday announced its troops captured 23 pirates that tried to kidnap a maritime ship in the waters of the Gulf of Aden. The spokesman for the Indian navy said the arrested persons are from Yemen and Somalia.
