Almotamar.net - Yemen Prime Minister Dr Ali Mohammed Mujawar affirmed Monday the decision of rationalizing spending the government has taken lately represented a necessity for keeping the situation of the public budget for facing the impact resulting from the global financial crisis and drop in oil prices. The goal is to avoid resorting to foreign borrowings to finance the public budget, pointing out that the decision included more than 35 measures but without touching wages and salaries.

In an interview to Al-Mithaq newspaper published Monday the Premier said the government did not make any price increases in oil products and it is keen to impinge on interests of the majority of the society.

Premier Mujawar on the other hand called on leaderships of the Joint Meeting Parties JMP to rescue themselves first and that they should not miss the train of democracy that does not accept the defeatists and the hesitant towards the pluralist democratic approach and outcomes of ballot boxes, away from outflanking the will of the electorate through agreements outside the constitution and the law.

The Premier said it is not allowed for those that failed to agree on choosing names of their representatives at the Supreme Commission for Elections and Referendum to accuse others of failure. He deemed discussions and tackling of the JMP recently as no longer confined to show enmity towards the General Peoples Congress GPC but most of them are targeting Yemen as a land and people and disregard the national interests.

The Prime Minister said the opposition realizes reality of its inability of gaining confidence of the electorate via objective electoral platform and realistic executive plans that are possible to be realized on the ground. Such opposition, regretfully, as a result of its disability is heading towards forging the reality and denying regional and international situations with which Yemen has been affected.
