The source clarified to almotamar.net that the Yemeni Foreign Ministry received Tuesday an official request from the Egyptian Foreign Ministry asking the release of the captured fishermen and handing them over to Egyptian authorities so that they stand trial before Egyptian court but Yemen refused the request before finishing investigation with them.

The source said the Egyptian fishermen had illegally entered the Yemeni regional waters in the Red Sea on board of a boat coming from Suez governorate on 4th of this month and the Coast Guard authorities caught them and confiscated their boat. He said it is expected that the Egyptian fishermen would be set free in the next few after pledging to commit to not repeat their violation of measures and pledge of the Egyptian authorities to send them for trial.
