Almotamar.net - President Ali Abdullah Saleh praised Monday the level of existing relations and cooperation with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia KSA at various levels, among them the security cooperation and combating terror.

During his meeting in Sana�a today with Assistant Interior Minister of the KSA Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz Al Saud the President stressed that security of the Kingdom of interest to Yemen and vice versa for the good and interest of the peoples in the two countries.

The Saudi official conveyed, during the meeting, a letter from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, pertaining to bilateral relations and areas of cooperation and coordination between the two sisterly countries especially in security and fighting terror.
President Saleh, for his part asked the Assistant Saudi Interior Minister to convey his greetings to King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz and his wishes for good health and for the Saudi people ever prosperity and progress.


On the other hand President Ali Abdullah Saleh on Monday received UN Assistant Secretary General, Deputy of Executive Director of the World Food Programme WFP John Powel.

The meeting discussed aspects of cooperation between the WFP and Yemen in the developmental and humanitarian fields. Mr Powel pointed out that world developments that led to the financial crisis and its effects on rise of prices of food materials in different countries, among them Yemen.

He pointed out that the World Food Programme would allocate a support estimated at $24 million for alleviation of impact of food prices rise for the persons who are most exposed to this impact. In addition he said to offering support in the area of school feeding, praising the efforts carried out by the Yemeni government in developmental fields and alleviation of poverty.

For his part President Ali Abdullah Saleh thanked the support of the Programme particularly the humanitarian aid that Yemen exerted in facing consequences of the financial crisis and rise in prices and the efforts for fighting poverty.
