Almotamar.net - President of the republic of Yemen Ali Abdullah Saleh on Tuesday begins an official visit to Federative republic of Russia in response to an invitation extended to him by the Russian President Dmitriy Medvedev.

The Presidency Office announced that during his 3-day visit to Russia the President will hold talks with his Russian counterpart Medvedev, the Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and a number of Russian officials. President Saleh�s talks are to deal with ways of boosting bilateral relations and cooperation of Yemen and Russia. Topping President Saleh talks in Russia are the cooperation in economic, trade, investment and military fields and discussion of regional and international recent developments of common interest.

In press statements the Yemen ambassador to Russia Dr Mohammed Saleh Ahmed al-Hilaly said President Saleh will discuss with Russian officials areas of economic, trade, cultural, information and military cooperation within the frame of existing relations between Yemen and Russia. The talks are also aimed to open new areas of political consultancy and exchange of opinions on different issues that concern the two countries, particularly the Palestinian issue and peace in the Middle East region.
