Almotamar.net - President Ali Abdullah Saleh has on Tuesday arrived in the Russian capital Moscow on an onset of a 3-day state visit. The President�s visit comes in response to an invitation extended by the Russian President Dmitriy Medvedev. During his stay in Moscow, the President would hold talks on bilateral relations and ways of enhancing and developing them in different areas.

In a press statement President Saleh gave to media instruments upon his arrival at Moscow Airport he said,� I am and the accompanying delegation pleased to make this official visit to friendly Federative Russia in response to the invitation by President Dmitriy Medvedev, �considering this visit as an opportunity to meet President and the friend, the Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and Russian officials.

The President pointed out the subjects and issues that would be discussed with the Russian officials concerning regional and international developments of common interest. Among those issues are what is going on in the Palestinian occupied territories and Iraq as well as coordination of the two countries efforts vis-�-vis the acts of sea piracy in the international waters offshore the Gulf of Aden and Somali coasts.

The President added that <� The Republic of Yemen supports the Russian plan for holding an international conference on peace in Moscow in addition to discussion of issues of terror and what happen close to the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden of acts of piracy against ships and the necessity that Russia would have an effective role in fighting act of piracy that threaten safety of international navigation in the region.�

President Saleh maintained, � We are confident that the Federative Republic of Russia has today become stronger and more effective than it was some years ago by virtue of the wise policy of its leadership and it is capable to shoulder its historic responsibility in enhancement and consolidation of security and stability in the region and the world. �

The President also pointed out that during the visit there would be meeting with representatives of companies and businessmen in Russia. These will be invited for investment in Yemen , particularly the companies specialized in oil and gas investments in addition of those investing in mineral riches and fish wealth and to make them acquainted with the privileges and facilities and guarantees that Yemen offers to the investors.

President Saleh added that his visit to Russia would contribute to creation of better understanding between officials of the two countries and in broadening horizons of the friendly relation between h two countries. He said that would give rootage to the joint interests and deepen reciprocal benefits of the two friendly peoples. He expressed his looking forward that this visit would realize good results contributing to development of the two countries� relations in the way enhancing and serving the hoped for tendency of both of them to prosperity and development.

President Saleh also pointed out that his visit comes within the frame of continuous communication between the two countries due to the historical relations of two of them and the joint endeavor towards enhancing and developing them in various fields.

President Saleh received official reception ceremony at Moscow Airport where the special representative of the Russian President for the Middle East was at the head of the reception, a number of senior Russian officials, the Yemeni ambassador to Russia and the Russian ambassador to Yemen, the Yemeni community, a number of Yemeni students studying in Russia and Arab countries ambassadors to Russia.
