Almotamar.net - A Yemeni Specialised Criminal Court on Tuesday sentenced three members of Al- Sania Cell, linked to Al-Qaeda, to seven years each in jail on charges of forming an armed group, plotting attacks on foreign tourists, security government installations and foreign targets.
At the court sitting held Tuesday under chairmanship of Judge Muhsin Alwan, the court ruling stipulated the sentence of 7 years in prison for each of convicted Mohammed Muhsin al-Saadi, Munir Hassan al-Bouni and Mohammed Ghailan.
The fourth defendant, a 15-year-old, was handed a two-year prison sentence.
After announcing the sentences the convicted shouted from the dock "This verdict is unjust," and accused the Judge as an agent and unjust, threatening to revenge from him. .
The three were convicted of conspiring to attack tourists and government facilities as well as foreign interests.
The second defendant of the cell members was condemned of forging government documents and the fourth defendant Ossama al-Saadi, 15, was sentenced to two years in jail for resisting arrest and threatening police with a hand grenade.
