Almotamar Net - In his meeting with the Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Badawi in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur on Friday, Assistant Secretary General of the Genial People’s Congress GPC ruling party in Yemen, for Political and External Relations Sultan al-Barakani expressed gratitude of the GPC delegation to the Malaysian Premier for the invitation to take part in meetings of the General Assembly of the Malaysian UMNO ruling party.

Almotamar.net - In his meeting with the Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Badawi in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur on Friday, Assistant Secretary General of the Genial People’s Congress GPC ruling party in Yemen, for Political and External Relations Sultan al-Barakani expressed gratitude of the GPC delegation to the Malaysian Premier for the invitation to take part in meetings of the General Assembly of the Malaysian UMNO ruling party.

The GPC delegation also conveyed greetings of President Ali Abdullah Saleh, Leader of the GPC, and congratulations on success of meetings of 59th meetings of the General Assembly of UMNO party.

Al-Barakani expressed the GPC appreciation and admiration of the Malaysian democratic experience and procedures of the transfer of power of leadership of the party and the government in a civilized democratic way, commending Malaysia’s experiment as considered a successful example of democracy in Islamic societies.

For his part the Malaysian Premier asked the GPC delegation to convey his greetings to President Ali Abdullah Saleh and to the Yemeni people, praising development and growth of the Yemeni Malaysian relations and evaluating the Yemeni participation in meetings of the United Malays National Organisation party UMNO.


On the other hand the GPC delegation held a meeting with the President elect of the UMNO party and upcoming Prime Minister Najib Razak and presented to him congratulations of the GPC for the confidence the UMNO party has given him in electing him president of the party and head of Malaysia government.

The delegation also congratulated UMNO party on success of its conference that is considered a historic session where the transfer of power was carried out in an advanced democratic manner.

The Yemeni GPC delegation also had a meeting with Hamid al-Bar, the Interior Minister, the member of the Higher Council of UMNO party. Mr al-Bar welcomed the participating delegations from Arab, Asian and African countries and asked head and members of the GPC delegation to convey his greetings to President Ali Abdullah Saleh.

The GPC delegation had taken part in meetings of the UMNO ruling party in Malaysia that is held on 26-28 March 2009.
