Almotamar.net - Delegation of Yemen, led by Minister for Human Rights Dr Huda al-Ban, taking part in Yemen report presented to UN’s Human Rights Council held in Geneva discussed the report of the Yemeni Republic. It reviewed the role that Yemen is playing in the field of human rights and the work it presents for pushing forward human rights. Minister al-ban clarified that Yemen established the ministry of human rights, works on protecting rights and reviewed structure of the ministry and the tasks it performs in the field of human rights.
Minister al-Ban pointed out that Yemen at present is at the forefront of Arab countries in the area of democracy and human rights, indicating to the woman presence in different official institutions and work places and confirming that the Yemeni unity is the safety valve for protecting the Yemeni citizen who in turn is the protector of the unity.
On the other hand the international council praised the Yemen report and the extent of progress in the area of human rights and its meeting of required conditions and criteria. The Yemen delegation was received with a number of congratulations on the progress in the area of human rights, the woman rights and democratic development in the political participation in various fields.
It is worth mentioning that the number of countries participating in the meeting amounted to more than 80 countries from different parts of the world.
