By: Abdul-Karim al-Nahari - DHAMAR- Nasser Saeed al-Emad, a prominent leader at the Yemeni Socialist Party (YSP), announced he, along with more than 60 high-ranking figures, joined the General People's Congress (GPC)) in Wesab al-Alei of Dhamar governorate, in constituency No. (211).
Al-Emad affirmed his desire and intention, in addition to the 60 others, to join the GPC as it is considered the national formation, with the future and security of the country as its main concern.
This came at the backdrop of differences that erupted between the leaderships of YSP and Islah Party on nominating Joint Meeting Parties (JMP)'s candidates for local councils, an idea that was rejected by Islah.
A number of JMP members submitted their resignations after the JMP intentions for the current phase were unveiled.
