By: Jamil al-Jadabi - SANA'A- The platform of the General People's Congress (GPC)'s presidential candidate, President Ali Abdullah Saleh, stressed it would increasingly care for expatriates' issues, protect their rights abroad, and work towards solving their social, legal, etc., problems both in the country of emigration and homeland, in addition to providing appropriate mechanisms to link them with the homeland and incorporate them in the national culture.

The platform, moreover, disclosed efforts to establish a bank for activating investment by expatriates' returns, and to incorporate expatriates in the election processes.
The platform stressed on providing privileges and enabling opportunities for the expatriate businessmen so that they would invest in and contribute to the development of the country.
The platform made it clear the GPC has been keen to offer sublime services for expatriates.
