Almotamar.net - Yemen’s Minister of education Dr Abdul Sallam Mohammed al-Jawfi discussed on Wednesday aspects of educational cooperation of Yemen with the World Bank WB with the visiting Murad al-Zein, in charge of education sector at the WB in Washington.

During the meeting the WB official has reviewed the most important educational programmes and activities the WB is carrying out and aimed at increasing the number of those joining education and bridging the gap between males and females. That is particularly in rural and remote areas along with guaranteeing provision of qualitative education as part of the strategy presented by the Ministry of Education.

For his part the Yemeni Minister of Education talked about the efforts of the government for development of inputs of the educational process and its outputs through the strategy for development of the primary education and the strategy of secondary education and the girl enrollment. All that aims to improve education structure and increase in the number joining education in addition to the illiteracy and adults education as well as the main difficulties faced in implementing these strategic plans.

The Yemeni Minister has meanwhile valued the efforts exerted in supporting educational programmes in Yemen by the donors, especially the World Bank.
