Almotamar.net - Assistant secretary General for the Woman Sector at the ruling General People's Congress party GPC Dr Amat al-Razaq Ali Hummad said on Wednesday that the GPC would fulfill its promise of nomination of a woman list in the upcoming parliamentary elections, saying " We hope hat it would overcome some hindrances that took place though the GPC had no role in them.
Mrs Hummad added as the woman has reached to all fields and occupying a post of Assistant Secretary General for the woman sector in the party," I am confident that there is a new vision for the GPC and we only need a convenient mechanism for supporting the woman in the direction towards the 15% for enabling her attain the parliament."

She has also called for taking advantage of the plan towards the local rule for expanding the woman participation politically in Yemen saying "the opportunity is available now as long as there is a local authority and local rule with large powers. What does prevent to begin expanding the woman participation in political field from now by working in accordance with practical vision to so that she can reach to those elected councils?"

In an interview to Al-Mithaq newspaper Mrs Hummad expressed her hope in cooperation of official and partisan efforts , including the opposition , to take serious steps to support the woman's attaining of the parliament , the Shoura and local councils as well as enhancing the first steps of what the woman has achieved at the executive level.
