Almotamar.net, Saba - British Foreign Secretary David Miliband said on Sunday that the United Kingdom is ready to increase its development aid to Yemen according to its needs.
During his meeting with Foreign Minister Abu Bakr al-Qirbi, Miliband praised the development process and the economic and political reform in the country.
The United Kingdom will support Yemeni government against any rebellion intends to deter the development in the country.
Al-Qirbi voiced the Yemen's appreciation of the British support, highlighting the government's efforts to bring security and stability back to Saada governorate and to encounter the radical and extremist thought that threatens security in the whole region.
Foreign Minister Abu Bakr al-Qirbi is in New York to attend the meetings of the General Assembly of the United Nations.
Meanwhile the Secretary General of the Organisation of Islamic Conference OIC professor Ekmeledin Ihsanoglu announced condemnation and denunciation of the OIC of the acts of violence and sabotage carried out by rebels in Saada.
Ihsanoglu has confirmed, in his meeting in New York with Yemeni Foreign Minister Dr Abu Bakr al-Qirbi, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meetings, those destructive acts are too far away from the Islamic Law and teachings of the Islamic religion. He pointed out that the OIC stands by Yemen and its right to confront any rebellion or devastative act aimed at destabilizing its security and stability.
According to report by the Yemeni news agency Saba Dr al-Qirbi discussed with professor Ihsanoglu aspects of cooperation of Yemen and the OIC and areas of strengthening them.
On the other hand the Yemeni Foreign Minister also held a meeting in New York with the Omani foreign Minister Yusuf Bin Alawi.
The two ministers have reviewed different issues of common interest of the two countries.
