Almotamar.net - Yemen's Interior Ministry said Saturday the security apparatuses coastal district of Bab El Mandab, Taiz province arrested a person involved in issues of smuggling weapons and munitions across the sea to Yemen. Security apparatuses pointed out their obtaining asserted information on involvement of the accused person in such law-violating activity.

This comes two days security authorities had arrested three of weapon merchants in the district of Baqum, Saada province while they were supplying terrorist and sabotage elements with weapons, munitions and explosives.

Official sources had said last week that concerned authorities in Yemen foiled attempt by weapons dealers to import from China to Yemen a shipment of ammunition using forged official documents , indicating to security investigations with the involved persons in the operation prior to prosecuting them.

In the meantime the Interior Ministry said it issued instructions to the Coast Guard Authority in both sectors of Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea as well as security administrations in coastal provinces on the necessity of putting double efforts and protection of Yemeni coasts against different crimes of smuggling and illegal immigration.
