Almotamar.net - Interrogations with the crew of the Iranian ship captured near Midi, north-west of Yemen disclosed that the persons arrested on board of the ship holding Iranian nationality had got rid of SIM cards of their mobile phones and tampering with navigation apparatuses of the suspect ship before catching them on Monday before the last, 26 of last October.

A reliable source reported continuation of interrogating the five-member of the Iranian crew if the Iranian ship Mahan 1 that was caught near the Yemeni coasts last week and on board of it were weapons believed to be bound for supplying the Houthi terrorist and sabotage elements with weapons.

The source disclosed that the cargo capacity of the ship amounts to one-thousand tons and has seven top rooms. The source revealed that among the things obtained in the ship was a sea map of Yemen.

26 September weekly newspaper has quoted a well-informed source as saying the investigations and search operations revealed that the Iranian crew members got rid of the SIM cards of their mobile phones by throwing them into the sea. Investigations also disclosed that the crew made alterations in the ship's navigation apparatuses so that its route and the places it had passed or stopped at them could not be revealed, confirming that the presence of the ship in the area where it was seized arouses big suspicion and calls suspicion about the task assigned to it.

The source added that operations of search and investigation were still going on and teams of Yemeni sea divers were sent to the site to reveal more information on the suspect ship, its cargo and the reasons of its presence there.

Yemeni Navy had on 26 October 2009 seized an Iranian ship offshore Midi, Haja province north-west Yemen loaded with weapons. The sources said the ship with its five Iranian and one Indian crew is believed to be smuggling to the Houthi elements.
