Almotamar.net - Assistant Secretary General of the General People’s Congress (GPC) for Political and External Affairs Sultan al-Barakani emphasized rejection of the GPC of any mediation or initiatives for stopping the war against the rebels, describing those talking about mediations as living in a state of illusion especially after the Houthis extended their aggression to a neighboring country. He pointed out that “maybe the Houthis are still waiting to reach the Yamani corner of Al-Kaaba,” rather than waiting to reach Amran.
Al-Barakani also said,” The question of Saada does not need initiatives or mediations because the state of was stopped fore five consecutive times, and all were in the hope the rebels would return to reason. but throughout the five times we were hoping that the Houthi would deal with what happen in Saada of events as proceeding from that Yemen is affiliated to the world of democracy and political pluralism and he could move to the political practice clearly and peacefully , but nothing of that happened..”
He added that he, who talks about mediation, lives in a state of delusion because if the sixth was stopped “we have to expect from al-Houthi a seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth war and so on.”
In a statement to Naba News website, al-Barakani said, “I don’t believe that the subject of mediation is existing and would not be in the subject like this. We have to decide the matter militarily though we feel pain for the blood which is being shed and for the sons of our people who have been forcibly displaced by the Houthis. “
Al-Barakani said there is a military coordination between Yemen and Saudi Arabia, not just political, but coordination in various areas. He said it would develop more in the next days.
