Almotamar.net, Saba - Head of Middle East Department at the National Democratic Institute, Les Campbell said on Wednesday that Yemenis are able to address their issues.

"No matter how the dispute was, with the emphasis on the importance of exerting more efforts in this direction", Mr. Campbell added during his meeting in Sana'a with Vice-President Abdu Rabo Mansour.

In the meeting, they discussed a number of issues relating to the democracy in Yemen, particularly with regard to the coming parliamentary elections in light of the adjournment for two years upon an agreement between the parties represented in the parliament in last February, 2009.

During the meeting, Hadi reviewed the overall political, democratic, and economic and security conditions, pointing that the state and the government are continuing in implementation of their responsibilities at the different levels according to the electoral programs.

Hadi expressed his appreciation for the NDI's positive cooperation that serves the democratic approach and assist in addressing the various challenges, noting in the same regard to the efforts of the European Union in this respect.

The government has exerted efforts to succeed the dialog with the opposition Joint Meeting Parties (JMP) so as to ensure strengthening the pillars of stability and security and providing the suitable environment for construction and development, Hadi added.

He hoped that everybody carries out his national responsibility in order to address all challenges facing the country, and on the basis that the interest of the nation above all other considerations.

For his part, the NDI's official voiced his appreciation for the efforts being made to bring together the views and maintaining the security and stability of Yemen and promote its democratic approach.
