Almotamar.net - The General People’s Congress (GPC) has on Saturday revealed refusal of the Joint Meeting Parties (JMP) of reaching an agreement for the application of February agreement signed by the GPC and the parties represented in the parliament and accordingly the parliamentary elections wee postponed until 2011.
The Deputy Chairman of the GPC Dr Abdulkarim al-Eryany has affirmed that the JMP refused different proposals presented by the GPC for reaching a mechanism for putting into forces the February agreement. The latest of which the proposal for preparing for holding the conference for the national dialogue in implementation of February 23 2009.
In a press conference held Saturday Dr al-Eryany revealed proceedings of meetings and dialogues held between the GPC and the JMP since April 2009 till last Tuesday.
Al-Eryany also reviewed the discussions that took place between the two sides during that period confirming that the JMP tried to cancel its political legitimacy and to replace it by the so-called national consultancy committee, saying,” We were surprised lately that the JMP demands to sign with the so-called the consultation committee as a representative of the JMP to an extent they said ‘we are the consultation committee and the consultation committee us’”.
The Deputy Chairman of the GPC emphasized the keenness of his party on continuation of the dialogue and said the minutes suggested by the GPC on preparation for holding the national dialogue conference in implementation of February agreement is ready for signing to be signed today or tomorrow.
The minutes included a suggestion of forming a joint committee to prepare for the comprehensive national dialogue conference composed of equal number from the GPC and its allies and the JMP represented in the parliament and their allies.
