Almotamar.net - President Ali Abdullah Saleh received in Sana’a Tuesday the US Assistant Secretary of State for Near Middle East Jeffrey Feltman who conveyed a letter to President Saleh from the United States of America President Barack Obama dealing with bilateral relations and areas of cooperation.

In his letter the US President has reaffirmed his country’s strong support for Yemen unity and considering it an important element for Yemen success and for the security and stability in the region in addition to the US keenness and commitment to continuation of its support for Yemen in the development area , increasing that support and enhancement of Yemen’s security capabilities and efforts for combating terror , as well as backing up Yemen within the framework of Yemen Friends Group , scheduled to hold its meeting in Germany late of this month.

The meting has also discussed aspects of relations and areas of cooperation at different levels. The US official praised the existing cooperation of the two countries and the efforts Yemen exerts for fighting terror, praising decision of president Saleh of stopping military operations and establishment of peace in Saada. Feltman also affirmed the US standing by Yemen in all that would safeguard its security, stability and unity.

For his part President Saleh highly valued the US attitudes supporting Yemen and its security, stability and unity, praising the steady developments of bilateral relations and areas of the two countries cooperation and confirming the keenness on enhancement of those relations in the manner realizing joint interests for the Yemeni and American peoples.
