Almotamar.net - Assistant Secretary General for Information Sector at the General People’s Congress (GPC) Dr Ahmed Ubeid Bin Daghr emphasized Sunday support of the GPC leadership and its parliamentary bloc would side with approving the legal text including definition of marriage age. He also criticized using the mosques pulpits for libel against others for political purposes in this regard.

During a meeting in Sana’a on Sunday with leadership and members of the Woman National Committee, the Democratic School and a number of woman organisations in Yemen, Dr Bin Daghr said the law on fixing marriage age, currently on table in the parliament would soon be passed by voting.

He added that limiting the age of marriage was one of the most important questions on which the happy family, which is the nucleus of society, is founded.

The GPC leading member drew the attention to the GPC interest in issues of the family and expression of its woes and aspirations as well as the work for upgrading its and providing all legitimate, legal , health, and social guarantees for it .
