almotamar.net - The Specialised Penal Appeal Section in Yemen on Saturday confirmed a sentence execution of two persons accused of highway robbery while the Criminal Court condemned eight others of kidnapping crimes and decided imprisonment against them for periods of 5-15 years.

In the court sitting chaired by Judge Mohammed Hussein al-Hakini the verdict stipulated confirmation of the execution of each of Najad Mohammed Ghalib and Abdulqawi Ahmed Ghalib as its was proved their highway robbery of the victim Abdul Sallam Mohammed al-Hadhiri.

The two condemned persons had hired the victim to take them in his taxi from the area of Dar Sulum to Khawlan. They killed him on the road and stole his car.

The First Instance Court had issued its death sentence against the two defendants on 7 March 2010.

In another case the Specialised First Instance Criminal court sentenced eight condemned persons to imprisonment for 5-15 years on charge of kidnapping crimes. In the court session held under chairmanship of Judge Radhwan Abdulwahab al-Nimr, the court decided imprisonment of the first defendant to 15 years, three years to the second, 12 years in jail to 5 of the defendants and 5 years in jail to one of them.
