almotamar.net - Head of the General People’s Congress (GPC) parliamentary bloc Sultan al-Barakani has wondered Monday of the talk of two opposition members of parliament Abdul Razaq al-Hajri and Abdul Karim Shaiban about rise of oil products prices in the Yemeni market.

Al-Barakani said at the Monday session of the parliament that remarks of the two MPs is a habit the opposition are used to do and carries contradictions, on the one hand it demands increase in employees salaries and continuation of government subsidiary of oil products.

He added that the state budget is not enough to cover its expenditure, adding that the price reforms of oil products were approved in the budget of the state.

He pointed out that most of oil products at the local are imported due to inability of Yemeni refineries to cover need of the market in addition to world rise in prices and that led to increase in the subsidiary.

Al-Barakani also called on Islah and Socialist blocs request opening additional appropriation for the budget in order to meet their demands.

Some MPs called for summoning the government to discuss rise in oil products prices and said there were army commanders got wealthy from corruption, to which al-Barakani demanded the opposition to present names of those who got rich and built palaces out of corruption and confirmed supporting the opposition if they did, instead of general talk. He said if the opposition Joint Meeting Parties possesses a programme for solving the country’s crises let it present it and let them form the government
