Almotamar.net - Minister of Human Rights in Yemen Dr Huda al-Ban has affirmed that her Ministry is studying all contents of Amnesty International report about Yemen and would respond I figures to the report which she described as not objective.

Dr al-Ban said the Yemeni government respects human rights and considers human rights as national priority in its programme.

On the other hand the Human Rights ministry continues its field visits to central prisons and jails in all Yemen’s provinces. The Minister said the committees entrusted with visiting prisons have so far visited prisons in ten Yemeni provinces and will continue until the end of Ramadan month. She added that the ministry would resume surprise visits to central prisons and jails with the aim of being sure about the degree of prisons’ administrations commitment to human rights and conditions of prisons and the human conditions of prisons inmates.

The Minister pointed out that preliminary field reports sent to the Ministry indicate commitment of prisons administrations to human rights criteria and proportion of violations are almost non-existent.
