Almotamar.net - The Supreme Commission for Elections and Referendum (SCER) in Yemen on Wednesday held a meeting, chaired by its Chairman Khaled Abdul Wahab al-Sharif and attended by Minister of Education Abdul Sallam al-Jawfi.

The meeting considered a project on mechanism of choosing participants in the committees of revising and amending elector records 2010 from personnel of the Ministry of Education. It defined the mechanism and roles and functions of the SCER and the Ministry of Education as well as the criteria in selecting the participants in the supervising, major and branch committees.

For implementing this mechanism, the SCER set up a Higher Supervising Committee chaired by Chairman of the SCER and membership of the Minister of Education, members of the SCER and its Secretary General, as reporter. The SCER also approved setting up a joint higher executive committee composed of heads of the SCER sector and undersecretary of education ministry. The mechanism, has defined specialties and tasks of the higher supervising committee and the joint executive committee.

The SCER also studied a report of the sector of parties and civil society affairs on results related to the sector�s follow-up of the project of electoral support to the SCER, the third stage and decided tasking head of the said sector to follow that up with the ministry of planning and international cooperation.
