Almotamar.net - The third meeting of the National Committee for Preparation and Negotiation (NCPN) with the World Trade Organization (WTO) was held in Sana’a under chairmanship of Chairman of the committee Dr Yahya al-Mutawakil, Minister of Industry and Trade.

Dr al-Mutawakil has stressed the importance of completing the remaining measure for Yemen accession to the WTO. The measures are the approval of legislations presented by the government to the parliament.

The minister pointed out that approval of the cabinet of those legislations and referring them to the parliament is considered a positive step for completing Yemen’s commitments to members of the WTO.

Al-Mutawakil clarified hat results of meeting of the 8th round of negotiations, held at the end of last September, and reflected the extent of the WTO member states’ interaction and their affirmation on the importance of Yemen joining according to what is planned for at the end of this tear.

For his part the head of the communication and coordination office with the WTO Dr Hamoud al-Najar confirmed the accomplished progress in the bilateral negotiations with , pointing pot that lately there has been signing with each of South Korea and Japan and that all discussion have been done and only the final signature remains.
