Almotamar.net, Saba - President Ali Abdullah Saleh attended on Wednesday at Al-Saleh Sports Hall in the business capital of Aden the Women's Fourth Sports Festival.

At the festival organized by the General Federation for Women's Sports, Minister of Youth and Sports Hamoud Ubad delivered a speech on behalf of President Saleh.

Ubad affirmed that the Yemeni woman represents a basis in building Yemen's new renaissance, noting that the President's sponsorship for the women's festival indicates his great interest.

He confirmed that the next period would witness further achievements in women's participation in various fields.

In this regard, Ubad pointed out that woman would play a great and active role during the upcoming elections not only as voters but also as candidates, as women is a half of the society.

President Saleh has directed to build more sports facilities for women's activities, Ubad said , pointing that women's hall are being under construction in Aden province and in all provinces of the country.

Moreover, Head of the General Federation for Women's Sports Nadhmia Othman delivered a speech in which she appreciated the political leadership's interest in the women's sports within the support provided for women in the different fields.

At the end of the festival, the shield of the General Federation for Women's Sports was granted to President Saleh in recognition of his role in supporting women and encouraging them at various levels.
