Almotamar.net - Sana’a- Assistant Secretary General of the General People’s Congress (GPC) for Information Sector Dr Ahmed Ubeid bin Daghr has held a meeting n Sana’a on Sunday with the visiting Gamal bin Omar, Political Advisor to the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon.

During the meeting the two men discussed developments in the Yemeni arena and ways of coming out of the political crisis the country is witnessing.

Dr bin Daghr affirmed adherence of the GPC leadership to implement articles of the agreement included in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) initiative in compatible with the constitution of the Yemeni republic , praising the positive and honourable role of the GCC with regard to security and stability of Yemen.

Dr bin Daghr has also reviewed stages of the dialogue between the GPC and its allies and the JMP and its partners, which reached into a deadlock as a result of the JMP leaderships’ intransigence and sticking to stands and issues that impeded the course of the dialogue despite of the concessions presented by the President of the republic, the Chairman of the GPC.

Bin Daghr also expressed his regret for the tragic state which the parties of the JMP have reached through escalation of the crisis, blocking roads, attacking public properties ad targeting security men in a number of districts of Yemen provinces as well as attacking oil and gas pipelines and instigating the street against the political system.

For his part, the Political Advisor to the UN Secretary General has emphasised the international community stand by security and stability of Yemen and offering more of the required support for combating terror and al-Qaeda organisation , which has become a great danger for Yemen in particular , the Middle East and world interests in general.

He called for exerting more efforts among parties of the dispute in Yemen in order to return to the table of dialogue and bring close viewpoints in the way guaranteeing defuse of the current crisis.

The representative of the UN Secretary General stressed the necessity of continuous dialogue and communication with all parties to reach peaceful resolutions, achieving or meeting aspirations of the political reality and enhancing of practicing the democratic process and subsequently coming out of the crisis and with solutions satisfying all the parties.
