Almotamar.net - The security services killed on Wednesday the mastermind of a terrorist cell that killed the Frenchman on Monday, the Supreme Security Committee (SSC) said.

The Frenchman was killed and another one was injured, both are security workers at the European Union mission in Sana'a, in a by-drive shooting took place in Hadda neighborhood, southern the capital Sana'a by unknown gunmen.

One more member was killed and another one arrested in the operation, an official at the Committee said, adding that security services are still pursuing the cell's rest members.

The security services identified the cell's house and did not storm into, in order not to risk the lives of children, women and other residents, who were in there, an official at the Committee said.

Once they left the house, the security forces tried to arrest the terrorists, who resisted, he said.

The operation resulted in killing "Wael Abdullah Masoud al-Wa'ili", who was the cell's mastermind. He was the plotter of the Monday attack on the Frenchman and the failed attempt of kidnapping a foreigner in a barbershop in the capital, which led to killing two of the kidnappers, the official said.

"Al-Wa'ili" has committed many terrorist attacks, such as the abduction of the Dutch journalist and his wife, released earlier, in addition to his involvement in the terrorist attack on the central jail in Sana'a last February, in which 29 terrorists were escaped.
