Almotamar.net - President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi said on Wednesday that the celebration of Yemeni people on the occasion of the 24th anniversary of the National Day is coinciding this year with achieving a modern and contemporary formulation of the Yemeni unity based on the federation system that guarantees legitimate rights of justice and equality for all the Yemeni people.
In a speech delivered to the Yemeni nation on the occasion of the 24th anniversary of the National Day, May 22, President Hadi said that the transforming of Yemen into a six-region federation in accordance with the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference is a significant step towards rebuilding the unified Yemen.
"Transforming the country into a six-region federation is a significant step towards rebuilding the unified Yemen as it will be included in the country's new constitution and it is an alternative approach to the administrative centralization system,'' President Hadi said.
"Today, we are working hard to implement the NDC outcomes because they are the mainstay of the country's comprehensive reform and the core of change that aims at building a modern civil state based on the principles of good governance, justice, equality and sharing power and wealth,'' the President added.
In his speech, President Hadi urged all political powers to unify their efforts during this phase, and to put the country's interests above all other ones.
Regarding the economic challenges, he said that the national economy has plagued into a myriad of difficulties during the past years, which he said increased this year.
The state's budget faces a shortfall in financial resources, and a big portion of these resources goes in supporting the fuel subsidies, he said.
"Those factors led to a decline in the amount of oil exports because oil is the main source of financial revenues in the states budget, the President said.
He also noted that foreign investments left Yemen due to the security situation and terrorism, adding that terrorist acts hit the tourism sector in the country, which is considers as an important source of hard currency. He said that those internal and external supporters of terrorists in Yemen will pay a high price...and they will not be able to impede the march of change.
The President finalized his speech by saying that the country's army and security campaign against terrorism will continue, praising the victories being made on the ground by the Yemeni armed and security forces in Abyan and Shabwa.
"The war on terror will continue until it is completely eradicated, whatever the sacrifices,'' he said.
