Almotamar.net - Gunmen shot dead deputy director and treasurer of the traffic police in Bayda province on Sunday.

A security source in the province said that at 10:30 in the morning two gunmen aboard a motorcycle fired a hail of bullets at the car of the traffic police treasurer in Sha'ab street in Bayda city, which led to the martyrdom of deputy director of traffic police Colonel Amer Ahmed Amer and treasurer Mukhtar Ahmed Luqman.

The source pointed out that one of the gunmen was wounded during an exchange of gunfire with Amer and Lukman, while the other managed to escape and pull his injured companion, the source added.

Security and military patrols are pursuing the offenders to arrest them and bring them to justice, the source added.
