http://www.almotamar.net صحيفة إلكترونية يومية تصدر عن حزب المؤتمر الشعبي العام (اليمن) http://www.almotamar.net/6858.htm 2009-10-26 Yemeni Al-Mithaq newspaper quoted reliable sources as mentioning that President Ali Abdullah Saleh , the Chairman of the General People's Congress GPC would ask the parliament in its present session period to accept the draft constitutional amendments pursuant to article 158 of Yemen constitution that authorizes the president of the republic and parliament demand for amending one or more of the constitution articles provided that the request should include causes and justifications calling for constitutional amendments. The parliament accepts in principle the draft amendments and approves them two months after the date of the parliament acceptance of the principle of amendments.
