<description>Yemen has called for concentrating efforts at the regional and international levels in order to eradicate marine piracy which endangers national security.

This was mentioned in Yemen speech at the UAE Counter-Piracy Conference which was launched Wednesday in Dubai delivered by Foreign Minister Jamal al-Sallal.

Al-Sallal reviewed the negative consequences of maritime piracy on Yemen and its direct threats on the national security of Yemen.

“Yemen suffers economically, socially and security-wise from this phenomenon in the Gulf of Aden in addition to the many challenges coinciding with maritime piracy since it has direct threats on the national security,” said Yemeni Minister of Foreign Affairs Jamal al-Sallal.
