Almotamar.net - Palestinian movements Fatah and Hamas on Sunday have signed the Sana'a Declaration. The signing ceremony was attended by the Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh. Signing the Sana'a Declaration represents the two movements' acceptance of the Yemeni initiative for healing the rift of the Palestinian rank and enhancement of the Palestinian national unity for the achievement of the interest of the Palestinian people and serving their just cause.
The Sana'a Declaration was signed by a representative of Fatah movement Azzam al-Ahmed, member of the executive committee of Palestine Liberation Organisation and member of Fatah political bureau and for Hamas movement it was signed by Dr Yusuf Abu Marzouk, representative of Hamas and vice-chairman of the movement's political bureau.
After the signing president Ali Abdullah Saleh talked to the media congratulating the representatives of Fatah and Hamas and the Palestinian people on the signing of the declaration. " We congratulate the Palestinian people on signing this initiative and I think it will effect a full remission and begins to enhance trust between Fatah and Hamas and the rest of Palestinian factions. What is required from the brothers in Fatah and Hamas the truce and media non-escalation and we call them to dialogue at the beginning of the next month and Yemen will host you for resuming dialogue. Dialogue usually begins difficult but when there are good wills towards the sons of the Palestinian people who are suffering from occupation, oppression and unjust blockade Fatah and Hamas and all the Palestinian movements will then bear the full responsibility. "
The president said," Alleviate from suffering of the Palestinian people by agreement of the two main factions and the rest of Palestinian factions, I am sure it will be a support for what the brothers in Fatah and Hamas have reached. " The people of Palestine are the responsibility of the two main actions and we in the Arab homeland are with you to support whatever you reach and we cannot force any agenda from us as mediators but the agenda is in your hands and you know suffering of the Palestinian people and we will support you." The president said. The president pointed out that what has been agreed will be studied as part of the agenda of the upcoming Arab summit conference in Damascus.
President Saleh wished the initiative to be not just a Yemeni but will be an initiative receiving Support of all the Arabs at the Arab summit in Damascus.
The signing of the agreement was attended by speaker of the Yemeni parliament Yahya al-Raie, deputy speaker Akram Abdullah Attiya, the foreign minister Abu Bake al-Qirbi, Abdullah al-Basheer, secretary general of the presidency and the minister of information Hassan Ahmed al-Lawzi.
