Almotamar.net - Member of the General Committee, the Head of the Political Office of the General People's Congress (GPC) Abdullah Ahmed Ghanim revealed Monday about contacts the President Ali Abdullah Saleh, Leader of the GPC is holding with leaderships of the Joint Meeting Parties (JMP) with the aim of arranging political measures and preparing them for resuming the dialogue if intentions of those leaderships were true.

Ghanim confirmed that the GPC is presently holding dialogues with some elements abroad; expecting that the next period would see more dialogue with the approach of Yemen elections in 2009. He said," We know that JMP leaderships dawdle but the President of the Republic is always keen on not severing dialogue with brothers in the JMP and that is what he us used to. Also, the GPC is pioneering in dialogue since early time and consequently cannot drop the possibility of dialogue at any time.

Head of the GPC Political Office considered statements of al-Attas as not a mere personal opinion rather than an expression of a trend inside the Yemen Socialist Party (YSP) and it has become expressing that openly after it was saying that in a shy manner.

He added that when al-Attars repeats every now and then such statements offending the Yemeni unity he of course serves certain sides he knows well because his statements with which he contradicts himself indicate this meaning , i.e. serving a certain side that pays him to launch those statements and makes actions here and there.

Ghanim also reminded al-Attars previous statements six months ago when he mentioned on a satellite channel that the biggest mistake the YSP committed was the decision of unity and his statement this week comes in the same context. In that he meets with part of the leaderships of his party and with part of the leaderships of the so-called the Southern Movement. Those repeat the same tone, i.e. the tone of colonization agents they were repeating before the outbreak of the 14 October Revolution and want by it to mislead the people to say that they have a national issue.

Mr Ghanim also said the YSP deserved to be isolated from the people because of its failure in its secessionist attempt and to sustain the bitterness of its defeat which itself created its circumstances. He added that the YSP in its latest statement, though it tried to whiten its old black chapter, it has forgotten or feigned to forget, what its experiment in the previous southern portion had led to the worst civil war ever witnessed in Yemen represented in events of 1986 and its consequences of physical liquidations and exile of a large number of former leaderships of the YSP so that to make its end by itself.

Mr Ghanim also said the YSP was not trustworthy or accurate when it mentioned about the war of 1994 as an attack by the other party that is partner in the unity because the war of the summer of 1994 erupted in implementation of the YSP's plot that was approved by its politburo and its central committee at that time regarding preparation for dismembering Yemen and separating its north from its south, and thus the war of 1994 broke out. That was has preserved and consolidated the Yemeni unity more in the hearts of the Yemeni people.

In an interview published by Al-Mithaq newspaper Monday the head of the political office of the GPC added the reality knows this fact. The people of Yemen realise that the YSP was the party caused the war intentionally and the consequences of it.
