Almotamar.net, Saba - The Cabinet approved Tuesday a report presented by the Prime Minister Ali Mujawar on the outcomes of the 19th round of the Yemeni-Saudi Coordination Council held in the Saudi capital ,Riyadh, during February 23-27.
The report included the nine cooperation documents signed at the end of the round, including four grants of SAR 430.5 million for the areas of water, sanitation, health, electricity and higher education.
In addition to, the report included two executive programs in the field of tourism and higher education and two memoranda of understanding for the fields of social insurance and scientific and academic cooperation.
The cabinet highly valued the good results of the 19th session of the coordination council, noting the council's vital role in implementing the directives of the two leaderships in the two countries.
Moreover the cabinet expressed its comfort for forming joint committees to study the Yemeni labor conditions and to come up with clear mechanisms to ensure offering facilities to the Yemeni community and labor in the Kingdom.
Also the cabinet praised the vital role of the Kingdom in the Yemeni development process as well as the Saudi supportive positions to the security and stability of Yemen as that is an inseparable part of the Kingdom security.
On another hand, the cabinet also reviewed an initial report submitted by Minister of Planning and International Cooperation on the Riyadh conference of development partners held on 27th and 28th of last February.
The report pointed to the positive atmosphere and the transparency accompanied the conference debates, noting the wonderful interaction by the participants and their understanding of Yemen's vision on the use of the foreign funding and the mechanism to bypass problems that prevent the completion of allocations process , whether by the government or by some donors.
The cabinet agreed on a loan agreement signed by Yemen and the French Agency for Development (AFD) of € 37.5 million ($ 55 million).
The agreement signed on February 22 is stipulated that the AFD loans Yemen the aforesaid amount to contribute to finance the rural area electricity project.
The cabinet directed Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Abdul-Karim al-Arhabi in coordination with Minister of Legal Affairs Rashad al-Rasas and Minister of State for Parliamentary and Shura Council Affairs Ahmed al-Kuhlani to follow up the constitutional procedures required for the agreement's authentication.
The project scheduled to be completed by the of 2015 aims to improve electricity supplies for inhabitants in the rural areas and to increase the opportunities for the rural people to obtain power in the regions that have not linked with the electric network via supplying houses with solar energy devices.
